The vision of an open workplace where people with disability work side-by-side with able-bodied people for the same pay and expectations resonates within each of us. Americans have always been the first to point out unfairness and discrimination where they exist and to champion a level playing field for all.

We believe that people should work hard and get ahead on their own. Unfortunately, many doors are closed simply because companies look first to disability, rather than to ability. Rather than setting limits, we should explore possibilities. People with disability deserve a job, not a handout.

Arnold Bennett, an English writer in the late 1800s, recognized that the price of justice is eternal publicity. The circumstances of people with disability must be publicly discussed to affect change.
